Bachstein Consulting LLC (BC), a firearms defense engineering firm, has announced that professional development training for their workforce will play a key role in the advancement of their team and how they support clients in 2025 and beyond.

The most recent focus has been on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), a system and language used to define and communicate design intent and engineering tolerances. GD&T is often a bit misunderstood and thought of as an unnecessarily complex addition to engineering drawings. However, it’s a real game-changer when it comes to manufacturing, ensuring parts fit and function within assemblies, and unifying the language between design, drafting, and production.

Recently, half of the engineering staff have gone through continued training in this area. This includes their Engineering Manager, Mike Guttridge, who recently completed his certification through ASME as a GD&T Professional.
